SEND

Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have their needs identified quickly. Staff work effectively with external specialists, where needed. Pupils with SEND receive expert support and clear, appropriate adaptations to lessons and activities. Pupils with SEND achieve well.

Ofsted - May 2025

At Broadfield we have equally high aspirations and expectations for pupils with Special Educational Need and Disabilities (SEND). Our teachers and SEND team ensure individual learning gaps are identified and lessons are adapted to ensure all learning is accessible.

We want to work in partnership with you to help your child and we know and understand that all children at some time struggle with their work or find school difficult.

If you have any questions or concerns about their child’s SEND support, the class teacher is the first point of contact. Class teachers will share key information with parents/carers during termly parent meetings but may request to meet at other points in the year also. If you have a problem or worry that cannot be resolved by your child’s class teacher you are welcome to come and speak to Miss Archer, who will do her best to help. She is happy to meet with you and can often help you to find the right service in the community to help with particular issues.
